[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 20.1 — Day 6 (Why Is The Sky So Dark?)

When Cheng Liu heard her name called, she was excitedly watching her boyfriend lift the red cloth. “A gift for you!” she exclaimed.

There was a solid gold plaque in the middle of the trunk of the car with a gold bullion on each side. Under the sunlight, they shone magnificently, beaming with golden light.

The golden light made the April day especially warmer—at least that was what Young President Cheng was thinking right before she turned her head.

However, when she turned her head and saw the person rushing toward her, the smile on her face gradually stiffened and, for some reason, she felt faintly guilty in her heart.

It was probably because this person looked quite familiar, and that same familiar, irritating temperament appeared again after a few months.

The closer he got, the more familiar Cheng Liu felt. It seemed… this person was just like the boyfriend she got half a year ago.

Some memories that were instinctively distorted and adjusted in her mind suddenly began to correct themselves.

“No wonder you didn’t reply to all the messages I sent and didn’t pick up the voice calls!” Wang Hongyang rushed over and showcased a resentful man’s look very accurately, “Cheng Liu, you really have a new lover.”

This familiar whiny tone….

At this moment, Young President Cheng’s golden, warm April sky suddenly collapsed and turned completely dark.

… …

Ji Chaozhou heard what the man who rushed over said. He put down his hand that was blocking the blinding light, looked his way, and instinctively explained for Number 6.

“She is my bodyguard.”

Ji Chaozhou thought the other party was Number 6’s husband, and he didn’t want a hard-working mother to be misunderstood.

But when he saw Wang Hongyang’s face, he couldn’t help but be stunned.

Ji Chaozhou had seen this person’s picture on the green-haired girl’s phone in the mall just  a few minutes ago, and that girl said that they looked very similar.

Is this person the bodyguard’s husband?

Although there seemed to be some coincidence in this matter, Ji Chaozhou ultimately didn’t care. He didn’t want to interfere in the bodyguard’s private affairs, so he looked away, taking the initiative to avoid getting involved.

His gaze turned back to the car’s trunk; he was a little surprised as to why Ji Mushan was still giving him gifts.

However, this one look made Ji Chaozhou suddenly freeze. His eyebrows furrowed. He stared at the gold plaque and slowly read out in a low voice: “Cheng Liu… Wang Hongyang?”

In the middle of the gold plaque were two hearts drawn close together, and the two names were engraved inside each heart. Names and hearts were connected by an arrow passing through them.

There were also words engraved on the two gold bars placed on both sides: Love is stronger than stone. Love will never decay.

Ji Chaozhou clearly heard Number 6 say just now that it was a gift for him.

But this was definitely not something Ji Mushan would give.

“Hah, bodyguard? Cheng Liu is your bodyguard?? Can’t you even come up with better lies?” Wang Hongyang sneered and stared angrily at the pile of bags in Cheng Liu’s hand. There were even men’s underwear in there!

He was only flirting with other girls, yet Cheng Liu has already bought underwear for anoother man!! It was not hard to think about what happened between them.

Wang Hongyang looked at Cheng Liu and felt that his head was greener than hers!

Ji Chaozhou frowned, not understanding what this person was talking about.

At this time, the girl with short hair finally caught up and asked, “Hongyang, what’s wrong with you?”

Ji Chaozhou was standing sideways in front of the trunk. When the girl with short hair saw his profile, she couldn’t help but let out a gasp. She grabbed Wang Hongyang’s hand and whispered, “He looks like you.”

In his life, the one thing Wang Hongyang was most proud of was his face, but when he turned to Ji Chaozhou again for a better look—he felt suddenly inferior.

His pretend anger turned real by ten percent. Wang Hongyang forcefully shook the short-haired girl’s hand away.

The short-haired girl was about to coax him, but then she saw the gold plaque in the still-open trunk, and her face changed instantly. She pointed to the plaque and said, “Why is your name and another person’s on this thing? Who is she?”

Wang Hongyang impatiently threw a look towards where she was pointing and was suddenly confronted with his name and outpouring of love in real, solid gold.

Wang Hongyang looked at Cheng Liu and hesitantly asked, “This… is your gift to me?”

Did he perhaps accuse Cheng Liu wrongly?

But those men’s underwear were obviously not bought for him!

Ji Chaozhou’s eyes passed over the three of them, one by one, and finally his gaze settled on Cheng Liu.

She said the gift was for him, but it was a typical lover’s gift, with the name ‘Wang Hongyang’ engraved on it, and this guy, Wang Hongyang, seemed to look a bit like him.

For a moment, Ji Chaozhou’s mind arrived at an outrageous conclusion, but he felt that it simply wasn’t possible. The logic did not make sense at all.

This person clearly sent over the jade ‘lily-of-the-valley and deer’ diorama that Ji Mushan took a photo of as a gift for him, and there was also the matter of Ji Mushan’s WeChat message on her phone.

That day in the airport parking lot, he saw her chat boxes on WeChat, and the last message between her and Ji Mushan was: OK.

Ji Chaozhou thought about this person’s behavior in the past few days and found that nothing was inconsistent with the behavior of a bodyguard. Moreover, when he introduced her as such to Aunt Yun, she didn’t deny it.

… …

As for Cheng Liu, she was in great shock at the moment.

She seemed… to have… recognized… the wrong… boyfriend!
