[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 19.1 — Day 6 (Two-Timing)

Cheng Liu stood in front of the hotel’s second-floor suite for a moment, making sure she had no distracting thoughts before swiping her card and pushing the door open. As it happened, her boyfriend was just coming out of the bathroom.

Ji Chaozhou had just rinsed his mouth, and his lips still had traces of wetness without him realizing it. He pushed open the bathroom door and walked out. Hearing footsteps coming from the entrance hallway, he turned and looked over; those extremely beautiful amber eyes looked at her quietly, showing indifference.

With that casual glance, Cheng Liu felt her throat go a little dry.

But after looking at each other for a moment, her boyfriend withdrew his gaze.

Ji Chaozhou walked to the living room table and picked up his phone.

Fortunately, this gave Cheng Liu time to come back to her senses. She did not continue to go inside anymore, but instead opened the door and waited for her boyfriend to come out.

Ji Chaozhou walked out slowly. He passed by Cheng Liu without stopping, but Cheng Liu could still smell the faint fragrance on his body.

Not only the aroma of the hotel bath products, but also the unique, very faint, moist and ambiguous fragrance that was solely him.

… Cheng Liu suddenly felt that the entrance hallway of Director Li’s hotel was much too narrow!

Otherwise, why was breathing so difficult?

Cheng Liu came to her senses, closed the suite door, and followed quickly.

This was the first time Cheng Liu had seen her boyfriend go down the stairs.

The speed was even slower than going upstairs, and he was leaning heavily against the wall, obviously trying to stay as far away from the handrail as possible.

This level of discomfort was not like a simple fear of heights, nor was it like the sequelae of yesterday’s fire.

During the entire commotion yesterday morning, from beginning to end she never heard her boyfriend’s voice on the other end of the phone. He must have been in a bad state since the fire started.

Cheng Liu took a few more steps down and walked right beside her boyfriend, blocking the gap on the handrail side.

“Let’s go to the mall first this morning. In the afternoon, should we get a new ID card and bank card?” Cheng Liu suddenly asked.

She looked at the steps in front of her as she spoke, not looking at her boyfriend’s face right next to hers.

His peripheral vision was now blocked, and Ji Chaozhou was brought back to reality by her voice. Ji Chaozhou came back to his senses, and the clenched hands beside him gradually loosened, “… Okay.”

“The pot of the lily-of-the-valley is a little burned. We’ll have to buy a new flower pot when we go to the mall later,” Cheng Liu continued.

Ji Chaozhou’s attention was somewhat distracted by her.

The stairs from the second floor to the parking lot were not long. It only took Cheng Liu a few more words before the two of them were already down the last step.

She fell back a few steps behind, her eyes resting on her boyfriend’s lean and straight back. After a moment, she lowered her eyes—when she raised them again, they were now clear.

Cheng Liu chased after him as if nothing had happened and opened the door for her boyfriend.

An hour later, the two arrived at the most upscale shopping mall in S City, where the world’s biggest brands had been gathered.

Cheng Liu rarely went to this shopping mall. She had always thought that the consumption here was far greater than was practical.

But she has been coming more frequently this year.

The first time was half a year ago, when she came here to buy a tie. The second time was yesterday, when she bought several sets of clothes and shoes, and today was the third time.

There were not as many people in this shopping mall as in other shopping malls, and it was not crowded at all. Most of the people coming and going were well-dressed, yet a few of them were dressed even more casually than Cheng Liu. They probably just came out in pajamas with a pair of slippers on their feet.

Ji Chaozhou and Cheng Liu went to the men’s clothing store on the second floor and took the emergency stairs.

“Madam, we meet again.” The salesperson obviously recognized Cheng Liu.

After all, yesterday morning, she felt like her mouth dried up after talking about fashion matching tips for so long. It wasn’t difficult for sales people to remember customers, and the appearance of this lady was also difficult to forget.

“The clothes I bought yesterday were not the right size, so he has to choose again.” Cheng Liu turned her head and looked at her boyfriend who had already begun picking out clothes.

The saleslady looked over, blushed and whispered to Cheng Liu, “Your boyfriend is a good match for you.”

Young President Cheng always liked people who could talk like this. She took out a card from her pocket and raised her eyebrows at the salesperson, “You wrap up everything he likes.”

“Okay, ma’am!” the salesperson nodded immediately. This month’s sales quota seemed to be on track!

Ji Chaozhou tried on clothes while Cheng Liu sat on the sofa and waited. She read up on some news on her phone.

… …

Wang Hongyang was standing on the escalator. He exposed his wrist and said to the young girl next to him, “I want to buy a watch, my wrist has been a little empty recently.”

The short-haired girl looked at his face with some fanaticism. She held his arm with one hand, raised her head, and said, “I’ll buy it for you!”

“No, I’ll buy it myself.” Wang Hongyang frowned, “Why would I use a girls’ money.”

“Can you think of it as a gift from me?” The girl put her face on his arm and pretended to be angry, “Don’t just treat me like an outsider.”

Wang Hongyang, who initially had clear hesitation on his face, finally seemed to be a little helpless against her, “I’ll just let you buy it this time.”

“Yeah!” The short-haired girl nodded repeatedly.

The watch store was on the fourth floor. Wang Hongyang took the girl with short hair around the corner and went up the escalator on the third floor. He glanced around and his gaze landed on a men’s clothing store on the second floor.

He couldn’t help but frown. He seemed to have been obsessed lately. He always felt like he could see Cheng Liu’s back everywhere.

But he was clear, down to his toes, that it definitely wasn’t Cheng Liu!

How could she accompany someone to a place like this to waste time.

Who would be so lucky?

Thinking of Cheng Liu, Wang Hongyang’s mood became irritated. After that day, whenever he sent messages, she started pretending that she hadn’t read them, and he couldn’t even get through voice calls.

“Where are we going to play later?” the short-haired girl next to Wang Hongyang asked happily, raising her head coquettishly at him.

“We can go wherever you want.” Wang Hongyang smiled, adjusting his mood, and the girl immediately looked flattered.

Look ah, this was a normal person!

Wang Hongyang’s self-confidence has been crushed by Cheng Liu recently, but now he finally got it back from other girls.

… …

At the men’s clothing store on the second floor.

“Okay?” Cheng Liu looked at her boyfriend who came out from the fitting room, “Just these few things?”

“Yeah.” Ji Chaozhou handed the clothes to the salesperson next to him.

Cheng Liu followed the salesperson to pay for the items. When she finished, Ji Chaozhou was already standing outside the store.

“Do you want to go to that store?” Cheng Liu pointed to a store across “I didn’t know your size, so I randomly bought a box yesterday.”

Ji Chaozhou was silent: “…”

Across them was a men’s underwear store.
