[7YrSecretLove] Chapter 15.3 — Knowing That She Broke Up

For two days in a row, Luo Qi’s work efficiency was not high. Fortunately, Jiang Yueru hadn’t spent much time in the company these past days, so she didn’t find anything unusual about her.

It wasn’t until the next day that she adjusted her state and stopped being distracted when reading documents.

[Sister, the house has been found. I went to see it, it’s not bad. When are you free to sign the contract?]

[Saturday.]

Just as she replied to her cousin’s message, Jiang Yueru looked for her.

Luo Qi put down her phone and hurried over.

Jiang Yueru raised her eyes and looked at her, “The dark circles are not as heavy today. I didn’t see them two days ago.”

“Can you still see them?” Luo Qi smiled, “I thought I covered them properly.”

“I can tell at a glance that you haven’t slept well. How could you cover it with makeup?” Jiang Yueru said casually, “Get the marriage certificate soon. Don’t stay up late these days. It won’t look good to take photos with panda eyes.”

As she said that, she gave Lu Qi an important document, “If you have time, do more research. I talked with Chief Jiang two days ago, and he has no problem with your transfer to Yuanwei Medical. Your appointment will come down in December.”

“Thank you, Director Jiang.” Luo Qi didn’t open the file bag, guessing that it contained important materials pertaining to Yuanwei Medical. She placed it back in front of Jiang Yueru, “Director Jiang, I wish to stay here at Yuanwei headquarters.”

Jiang Yueru was puzzled. “You don’t want to grasp such a good opportunity, aren’t you being foolish? I’ve been there before, and I’ll tell you that self-disciplined men are too rare. Don’t test men, few can stand the test. It’s been a long time that you two have lived in different places. Sooner or later there would be problems.”

Luo Qi didn’t hide it any more, “There is already a problem. We broke up a few days ago.”

Jiang Yueru was dumbfounded—she suddenly didn’t know whether to feel sad for Luo Qi or happy for her nephew.

As a woman, she had hoped that Luo Qi’s relationship would go smoothly. She has experienced the feeling of being betrayed and knew how painful it was, so she really didn’t want Luo Qi to experience it.

However, as an aunt, how could she not be happy that her beloved nephew now has a chance after missing it for six years.

A mixture of competing emotions all at once.

“Director Jiang, I’m fine, I’ve almost adjusted.” Luo Qi joked about herself, “The dark circles under my eyes are no longer heavy, isn’t that what you said.”

Jiang Yueru blamed herself, “I didn’t pay attention, I thought you simply didn’t sleep well after working overtime.”

She pointed to the file bag. “Are you certain you don’t want to go?”

“Certain. I will stay here at the headquarters.” The wedding was canceled, and her family was ignoring her now. What was there to go back for?

Jiang Yueru didn’t say anything any more, “Then the document is no longer needed—you give it to Chief Jiang.”

“Okay.” Luo Qi took the document and left. Thinking of how she bumped into Jiang Shenghe that day with eyes swollen from crying, she really didn’t want to meet him face to face.

Jiang Yueru didn’t specifically tell her nephew that Luo Qi and Pei Shixiao had broken up and waited for him to find out himself that something was wrong.

Jiang Shenghe just arrived at the office and was preparing for a video conference.

Secretary Ju came over to ask for instructions, “Chief Jiang, Assistant Luo is outside. She came here to deliver some documents.”

Jiang Shenghe raised his head with a snap, “Luo Qi?”

“Yes. She’s just outside.”

“Let her in.”

Up until Luo Qi stood in front of the desk, Jiang Shenghe was still wondering why his aunt asked her to come over to deliver documents.

In the past few years, he and his aunt have kept their own balance: he never unnecessarily went to his aunt’s office so as not to run into Luo Qi, and his aunt never intentionally let Luo Qi appear in front of him.

Luo Qi explained the reason for returning the documents, “I’ve decided to stay here at the headquarters.”

Before Jiang Shenghe had time to ask her why she didn’t want to go to Yuanwei Medical anymore, his gaze swept over the document bag in her hand, and his eyes fixed on her left ring finger. Empty.

Her engagement ring had been taken off.

At that moment, there was a huge fluctuation in his heart.

He tried his best to maintain his calm on the surface and nodded slightly to show his understanding.

Luo Qi was used to him cherishing words like gold, so she put down the document on his desk and left.

When the door was closed, Jiang Shenghe gathered himself together and called Jiang Sixun to question him about Luo Qi’s matters. “It’s been days and nothing has been found. What did you even do?”

It wasn’t that Jiang Sixun didn’t find out anything—but the news he found completely shocked him! He was afraid that the surprising news wouldn’t be real after all, so he asked a few more people first to confirm.

“I’m eating, and I was planning to tell you after eating, but you can’t even wait for a few minutes. The exact news: they’ve split up and the wedding is canceled.” He didn’t forget to claim the credit, “It’s because of my good deeds that you are where you are today. Remember this favor every day in the future.”

After a while, Jiang Shenghe recovered his voice, “Luo Qi’s engagement is broken?”

“Yeah. I didn’t specifically look into why, just to give Luo Qi some privacy and respect.”

“No need to check why. Give me a copy of Pei Shixiao’s company information.”

Jiang Sixun was worried that Jiang Shenghe had become even more irrational, “What are you planning? Going to make trouble for Pei Shixiao?”

“I’m not so free. What good is it to me to know that he’s bankrupt? And give Luo Qi a chance to sympathize with him?”

“Then why do you want his company information?”

Jiang Shenghe said, “Get all the domestic projects that Pei Shixiao has been optimistic about recently and find a few overseas projects that are similar to it. We’ll talk about other measures in a year’s time.”

“…” Jiang Sixun smiled, “You’re the one who is ruthless.”

Entangling Pei Shixiao with overseas projects, he would have no time to bother Luo Qi. Jiang Shenghe was not giving him the slightest possibility of getting back together with her.

  1. Now tthat’s really an intelligent CEO..smart move Chief Jiang. Not letting him bankrupt cos it will make him pitiful ..but snatch the local business and give him overseas opportunity so that he will be kept busy abroad and has no time to pursue her hahahahaha. Fox!

  2. Lol. Poor, conflicted Auntie. Am I sad or happy? Offer condolences or congratulations?

RIP ex-fiancée. Jiang Shenghe is playing the long game, and he’s in it to win it.

  3. I really like how Jiang Shenghe doesn’t care about the reason they broke up, but only on taking advantage of the situation for his own benefit, lol. He also plans in the long-term to prevent his rival from having another opportunity to get Luo Qi back. You have to love such a decisive man!

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
