[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 13.1 — Day 4 (Learning Without A Teacher)

Last night, after Cheng Liu called for a taxi to take the drunk and lyrical chief assistant home, she stayed up for another two hours learning love words before going to bed. Nevertheless, she still woke up energetically at six in the morning.

Normally, the first thing Young President Cheng would do upon opening her eyes was to check her work email, but this morning the first thing she did when she turned on her phone was to greet her boyfriend.

After studying last night, she found out that she was still not proactive enough, so she started to correct it this morning.

Number six: [Good morning, are you working today?]

Cheng Liu got up and took a shower, all the while nervously waiting for her boyfriend to reply, but soon she realized something.

It’s 6:15 in the morning; wasn’t it too early?

Young people nowadays seemed to like getting up late.

Cheng Liu put away her phone with some regret: it might be after eight o’clock when her boyfriend sees her message.

She grabbed a coat from the closet and put it on—she decided to buy breakfast and bring it to her boyfriend. If he wanted to work, she could also bring him to work directly.

Isn’t that what boys in college did? Buy breakfast every morning and wait by the girls’ dormitory building.

Cheng Liu was very satisfied with her inference.

As expected of her, no matter what field she was in, she could quickly comprehend the ins and outs of it, and falling in love was no exception!

While walking towards the parking lot, Cheng Liu scrolled through Director Li’s circle of friends.

She remembered that Director Li posted something a while back, saying that his wife liked to go to a particular breakfast restaurant the most as it served healthy and nutritious meals.

Director Li’s wife was a star, and she also needed to keep fit. Her boyfriend, who was a model, should be able to eat the kind of food she liked.

Found it!

In order to express her gratitude to Director Li, she specially sent him a thank you message on WeChat, and also gave him a like on his circle of friends.

Director Li, who was in the middle of a sweet dream, was suddenly awakened by a notification sound from his mobile phone. He dazedly stretched out his hand towards the bedside table, rubbed his eyes with the other hand, and looked at his mobile phone with half-opened eyes.

This one glace completely woke him up.

Li Dong glared at his phone. “Is Cheng Liu sick? She inexplicably said ‘thank you’ so early in the morning, and even gave me a like on my circle of friends post from a year ago? Does she know that middle-aged people have poor sleep quality? Once we wake up, we can’t sleep anymore!”

“Shut up!” Yang Fanyu, who was sleeping next to him and was awakened by his noise, grabbed the pillow next to her and threw it at her husband.

“Okay, wife.” Li Dong hugged the thrown pillow to him, quickly slid back into the quilt as quiet as a chicken and secretly gritted his teeth at Cheng Liu.

Young President Cheng, who thought that every boss was as energetic as her in the mornings and had no idea that she was disturbing other people’s dreams, had already found the location of the breakfast restaurant and drove there.

When she got to the store, it was exactly seven o’clock, and they had just opened for business.

Cheng Liu ordered a classic set meal: some kind of fruit shake and a salad.

“Is this healthy and nutritious?” Cheng Liu remained skeptical.

“Of course, we added several kinds of anthocyanin-rich fruits to the milkshake, which are good for the eyes and skin,” the clerk introduced enthusiastically.

Cheng Liu carefully wrote down what the clerk said.

At this time, the boyfriend finally replied to her message: [Drive me to Ranshan R&D Building at 8:30.]

Cheng Liu, who aspired to become a good girlfriend, of course immediately sent a reply: [Okay.]

“Your set meal is ready.” The clerk handed the packed fruit shake and salad to Cheng Liu.

“Thank you,” Cheng Liu said, taking the ordered items.

… …

It was not yet eight o’clock when Cheng Liu arrived at Wenchang Community. She thought about it and finally went upstairs with her take-out bag.

This community has been around for some years; the buildings were not high, there was no elevator, and there were various small advertisements posted along the doors and corridors. But the door of her boyfriend’s house was exceptionally clean, and there were no notices posted on it.

Cheng Liu glanced down the corridor on the first floor, where there was a long extension cord hanging down from upstairs. She walked slowly to the second floor, following the cord with her eyes, and looking up the side of the building, she saw that it must have been put down by residents on the fourth floor.

She knocked on her boyfriend’s door.

Ji Chaozhou opened the door and stood sideways upon seeing her, “Come in.”

Cheng Liu walked in, put the breakfast on the dining table, turned her head and said, “I bought something for you—the clerk said it’s good for your health.”

Ji Chaozhou glanced at the two carefully packed boxes, then raised his eyes to look at No. 6. “You take back that gift from last night,” he said.

Cheng Liu was taken aback. “What’s wrong?”

“I don’t like it,” Ji Chaozhou said simply. He didn’t want this gift from Ji Mushan.

Cheng Liu came back to her senses. “Then I’ll take it away later, you have breakfast first.”

Since her boyfriend didn’t like the jade ‘lily-of-the-valley and deer basin’, she’ll just prepare other gifts next time. Cheng Liu didn’t feel disappointed, but she was a little surprised to hear that the other party didn’t like it.

Ji Chaozhou didn’t really want to eat, but he remembered that the bodyguard had sent him the message at six o’clock—the other party seemed to have been on standby since early in the morning.

He approached the dining table, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

Seeing this, Cheng Liu immediately reached out to help her boyfriend open the packages—which was what a caring girlfriend should do.

Ji Chaozhou had just touched the package when his bodyguard suddenly snatched it away, and his fingertips touched the back of her hand unexpectedly.

He quickly withdrew his hand, but her warm body temperature had already spread along his skin from the contact.

Ji Chaozhou’s left hand hung down by his side, fingers curled up slightly; he didn’t like the feeling of this kind of contact. It’s strange and flamboyant; his fingertips seemed to be instantly tinged with the warmth of outsiders.

“Okay.” Cheng Liu pushed the tumbler of fruit shake and a bowl of salad in front of her boyfriend, “You eat first, I’ll move that jade diorama to the car.”

Ji Chaozhou didn’t say anything, just nodded to show he heard.

T/N: Sorry for the lack of updates last week. The change in weather made it hard for me to breathe, and I mostly just stared into space thinking how very nice it would be if I wasn’t gasping for air like a stranded fish 🙂

Buy me ko-fi and read chapters in advance. HERE is the list. Thanks for reading and the support!
