[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 2.2 — Day 1 (angry boyfriend)

Of course Cheng Liu, who was walking in front, didn’t know what her ‘boyfriend’ was thinking. She was still immersed in the joy of touching her boyfriend’s hand, and strode out of the airport.

Along the way, her keen eyes saw that a certain entertainment reporter was pointing his camera at them.

The moment they passed him, Cheng Liu let go of the suitcase handle, and still holding the lilies-of-the-valley, pointed at the entertainment reporter, saying “Don’t mess around.”

In recent years, she has developed a reputation in the business technology sector, but Cheng Liu didn’t like having her face appear in the news much, so she casually gave a warning.

Due to his confusion about the current situation, Yu Ji hadn’t realized that Yun Fei’s jar was already broken and still kept shooting his camera. Now he lowered the camera and showed his face, feeling dazed. “Oh, ok.”

Just a couple of good-looking tourists, sensitive to the camera.

When the two have walked away, Yu Ji slowly came back to his senses. He looked at the chaotic crowd on the other side, and after thinking about it for a while, gave up trying to squeeze in.

He thought the news that Yun Fei’s lover had come to pick her up from the airport was true, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding.

But the couple who passed by just now were really good-looking! Especially the man; even he was taken aback himself.

Yu Ji looked at the few photos he had taken in his camera; he was a little reluctant to delete them—the photos were pretty good.

Yu Ji recalled the warning from the female passer-by just now. Well, he won’t post carelessly, but it’s okay to keep them for himself.

Thinking of this, his eyes fell on the female passerby who was holding the male passerby’s hand in the photo, and after a while, he murmured in a low voice, “Why do you look familiar…”

……

Leading her boyfriend to the parking lot, she opened the trunk of her car and put her luggage in.

“Add your WeChat.” Cheng Liu closed the trunk, turned to her boyfriend who was standing beside her.

Putting her boyfriend’s contact information on her work phone, Cheng Liu felt that she was being a bit indiscriminate between work and private, but…. Cheng Liu raised her eyes to see the dazzling boyfriend in front of her—well, her bottom line could still be lowered a little bit.

Seeing that he still wasn’t moving, Cheng Liu looked down at the screen of the phone, and then stretched out her hand and clicked to show her QR code instead. “Scan it.”

When she showed Ji Chaozhou her WeChat on her phone, he looked down and saw a row of messages. His gaze finally settled on a familiar name farther down the list.

So she was someone sent by him?

Ji Chaozhou’s amber-colored eyes glanced across at the woman who was only half a head shorter than him, and his eyes once again fell on her WeChat name on the QR code.

Number six.1

The profile picture was a pistol with the barrel facing the sky and the handle to the right.

Recalling the other party’s warning to the reporter earlier…

Bodyguard?

Ji Chaozhou was silent for a long time, but remembering Aunt Yun’s words, he finally took out his phone and added the WeChat of the bodyguard in front of him.

Cheng Liu patiently waited for her boyfriend to add her WeChat again, and she praised herself in her heart—her boyfriend was just angry and awkward, so it was okay to coax him.

What’s more, her boyfriend dressed up specially for her today. As a girlfriend, she has to be more generous, and it’s okay to bow her head occasionally.

So she took the initiative to go over and open the passenger door, waiting for her boyfriend to enter the car.

There was nothing Cheng Liu couldn’t do since she was a child, but now she wanted to turn over a new leaf and become a 24-standard-filial girlfriend2—she will definitely do her best!

Once Ji Chaozhou knew that the other party was a bodyguard, he no longer had any intention of probing into what happened in the airport just now and sat in the car indifferently.

Cheng Liu walked around to the other side, sat in the driver’s seat, and when she drove out of the parking lot, she quietly glanced at her boyfriend who was looking sideways out of the car window.

She hasn’t seen him for three months—even the profile has become more perfect.

Cheng Liu’s heart was pounding; she originally thought about taking her boyfriend to dinner, but now she felt a little embarrassed—it was better to go back home first to wash and change clothes before going on a date.

After all, the boyfriend next to her was pretty and clean, while she ran around this morning visiting the experimental factory in G city before traveling by plane.

“Where… do you live?” Cheng Liu asked, the hesitation clear in her voice.

As soon as she asked, Cheng Liu began to feel guilty again. After half a year, she didn’t even know where her boyfriend lived.

“Building 5, Wenxing Community.” Ji Chaozhou didn’t turn his head to look at her, and after saying this, he returned to quietly gazing out the window.

He wouldn’t embarrass a bodyguard.

The car was extremely quiet along the way, it’s only that Cheng Liu couldn’t help but shoot glances at her angry boyfriend occasionally.

At the red light, Cheng Liu stepped on the brakes and looked down at the beautiful and slender hand of her boyfriend that was naturally hanging beside her.

She wants to touch.

However, she had heard from her business partners before that an angry girlfriend should not be messed around with, and it should be the same with her boyfriend.

Forget it.

Anyway, coax people well first before touching.

Cheng Liu successfully drove into the Wenxing community and stopped at the door of the fifth building. Her phone vibrated, and she took it out to see that it was a message from the chief assistant, saying that they were going to have a meeting.

She replied, and then turned to look at her boyfriend who opened the passenger door. “I’ll pick you up at 8 in the evening for dinner, at Guyu Restaurant,” she told him.

Cheng Liu had booked a private room for the whole day, originally so she would have the flexibility to advance or retreat.

Sure enough, it wasn’t a waste of money—now she can go home to take a shower, change into clean clothes and still go on a dinner date.

Ji Chaozhou paused and returned to the car.

Ah? Did he get coaxed so quickly?

Cheng Liu looked at her boyfriend’s beautiful face and was overjoyed. Before she could speak, she saw him take the lily-of-the-valley from the backseat of the car.

“…”

How did he become even more angry, not even giving her the flowers?

Cheng Liu watched her boyfriend’s back as he walked to the building and disappeared inside. She sat in the car and sighed. She didn’t cherish it at the beginning, now it’s like this, and it’s her own fault she was unhappy.

Holding her phone, she looked at the WeChat that her boyfriend had just added. He had changed his profile picture and even his WeChat name.

A few days ago, his WeChat profile picture was still a selfie, showing his profile, but now it has become a glass boat filled with light yellow liquid—like a perfume bottle.

The WeChat name has only one word ‘Zhou’.3

Cheng Liu thought for a long time, but couldn’t remember what her boyfriend’s original WeChat name was, but only vaguely remembered it was an English name.

Jerry or Tom?

Cheng Liu clicked on the note, thought for a while and still didn’t type the three words ‘Wang Haiyang’. Looking at it now, she always felt that this name was not suitable for a boyfriend.

It sounds so unfamiliar!

In the end, she typed the word ‘boyfriend’ on the WeChat note.

After a while, Cheng Liu turned the car around and drove to her own residence. It’s just coaxing her boyfriend, she will surely be able to coax him well.

Isn’t he just angry that she hasn’t contacted him for a long time?

Starting today, she—Cheng Liu—promised to come and accompany her boyfriend every day!

FOOTNOTES:

1 Her name 琉 ‘Liu’ means ‘precious stone’ and sounds the same as the number 六 ‘6’, which sounds like 溜 ‘smooth’ or ‘skilled’—which is why in internet-speak, 666 means ‘amazing!’ ↩︎

2 I looked up these 24 standards for a filial girlfriend and almost barfed so I will not list it here anymore. Just take it to mean a super supportive, loyal, loving etc etc kind of girlfriend. ↩︎

3 舟 ‘Zhou’ means ‘boat’. I would probably translate ‘Chaozhou’ as something like ‘majestic boat’, as 朝 ‘chao’ is something to do with imperial power. His name is pretty nice 🙂  ↩︎
